Sounds like a smart conclusion David.
Not so much a message to you, but more for anyone else interested. Estate sale companies are hired to SELL. They eventually will sell this and will have to do so for the price offered. Charles advice to offer $200 is good. I wouldn't pay any more than that, unless I had a goal to own a Hampton. It may sound nice, and be in good condition, but it's a space hog and not overly appealing in design, (in my opinion of course).
Exactly. I could NEVER justify paying $900 (or $450 for that matter) for a Hampton when I brought my Cortez home for $300.

It’s nice to know nice high end phonographs are still out there.
There was a time they were considered quite collectible in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s. I’m using my past experiences at the old Union shows as reference.
But with the passage of time interest and market demand always determines value. Along with location.
At least the price point has kept the Etsy repurposed furniture crowd away!

Not bad.... at an estate sale to the "general public"..... I was worried it would fall down to the $100 to $200 range if the "right" buyer did not come along... Thanks for sharing this data.

Bit sad to see them go for that much- they're nice but I want one (again)!
I miss mine, but it had no legs and the finish was rough. If anyone gets one in the midwest, let me know!

The Hamptons are (thankfully) mostly unknown and underrated. They're incredible workhorses and I'd say lower upper end. I think I paid $50 for my cut up one.
