Lynn Bilton held shows in Newark, NJ, then Boundbrook, NJ and then Claymont Del. Michael Devecka saw the need to bring a quality show back to New Jersey which is called the Mechanical Music Extravaganza. Alway a nice draw from Jersey, Pa and New York.
Lynn Bilton has nothing to do with this show which has always been held at the Wayne Police Athletic League Building in Wayne New Jersey 07470.

Got it. Didn’t know that the Mechanical Music Extravaganza and the old Lynn Bilton shows were different. When did the old Lynn Bilton shows start to be held and does Lynn Bilton still hold shows today? Phil mentioned that the last Lynn Bilton show in New Jersey was in the fall of 1997.fmblizz wrote: Fri Apr 14, 2023 6:15 pm Lynn Bilton held shows in Newark, NJ, then Boundbrook, NJ and then Claymont Del. Lynn ran a show in Waterbury, CT for a few years, but that has been discontinued. He also had a show in Ohio(?) 2 or 3 years ago, but that appears to have been a 1 time event, probably to see whether it was worthwhile or not.

Re: Wayne NJ Show April 30th 2023
I recall reading that the Ohio show was a bit of a bust with only 7 or 8 venders and around maybe 20 or 30 buyers. I recall speaking to Lynn Bilton a few times via email during my early days of collecting 15 or 16 years ago. I remember him being a really nice guy who gave me some good information about Edison phonographs and cylinders. I wonder if Lynn Bilton will be attending the Mechanical Music Extravaganza this year?52089 wrote: Sat Apr 15, 2023 5:22 pm Lynn ran a show in Waterbury, CT for a few years, but that has been discontinued. Also, did Ken Woodbury help Mike Devecka with running the Mechanical Music Extravaganza in the past or no? I met Ken a few times and he was a really great guy as well and was probably the biggest phonograph dealer in the entire county. He and my collector friend Phil Kolber were pretty close friends going back to the early 1980s.

I only got to the last couple of shows in Bound Brook (which is only about 10 miles from me) and then went to the Claymont shows before those shows ended and the Wayne shows began. I never got to the shows in Danbury in between.

Get rid of that horrible potmetal!
Stop by my table to see the new aluminum replacement parts for the Victor Automatic machines 10-50, 10-51, 10-70 and 9-55. They have been in development for the past 15 months and have been tested extensively on all models of the First Style changer machines including both the Orthophonic and Electrola varieties. The parts are finished with a durable powder coat finish and machined to fit.The steel link index assembly is copper plated to match the other parts in the changer. Unlike earlier attempts no tedious filing and trial fitting is needed.
There are drop-in replacements for the always bad potmetal. All parts are finished and ready for installation.
The Automatic machines are a delight to watch. The horn on the 10-50 is larger than the Credenza and sounds fantastic!
I’ll be taking orders in Wayne at a special introductory price of $575 for delivery in mid-May.
A limited number of sets and individual parts will be available. The turntable is in development and will be ready soon. Since the turntable is not always needed it is not part of the standard parts set. It will be priced separately when available. A warped turntable prevents proper operation of the changer.
Stop by and say hello.
If you can’t make the show you can email me to reserve or purchase a set.

Re: Wayne NJ Show April 30th 2023
I hope to have one of those some day. I have a Brunswick Panatrope 42 changer-phonograph that belonged to my wife’s godmother and that I hope to restore one of these days. While I know something about restoring mechanical things, radios and electronics are outside of my abilities.
