Here is a Cline decal I installed on an original finish, where someone in the past actually SANDED OFF the original decal! What were they thinking?????

1898 Edison Home Model A

His decals look great when they come off the "press," but look spectacular when installed and snuggled down with solvent.

I used these decals over the summer and they do look very good, I always, on Edison cabinets apply two coats of orange shellac over the top they look very original.. I do miss the varnish transfers that A.P.S Co. Used to have, they worked the same as the originals.

These decals are incredibly high quality . I can't tell if it"s a repro and i put it on!!! Thanks Gregg!! Eric Skaggs

It reminds me of the time I used a Cline decal for the underside lid of a VV IX. I propped the lid up against a wall, installed it and admired my work. Well, i left it for a few days, went to check on it...and to my horror, i thought i installed it upside down. Much to my relief, while searching for small parts I had moved the lid and put it back upside down. Its one of those moments when u go from heart attack to heart elation.

I have used quite a few of Greg's decals, including the Suitcase Home applied to the lid.
Whilst I would not advise anyone to ignore his instructions, as I could not source the Microset, I used it without.
When the decal was dry I could just see the outline of the backing material so used 0000 wire wool to remove it as close to the lettering as possible. The effect is stunning!. Far better than the thick decals I have used in the past where you can always see the difference in colour where the paper backing covers the stain.

One of the most incredible Victrolas I've ever seen was a Vernis Martin XVII with a factory upside down decal. The owner suspected the defect was found on last inspection, never shipped and was finally sold as an obsolete machine at a discount. I'd love to have a factory mistake but I'd be devastated if I made the error and had to make a correction. Jerry
