Funny: George Gouraud recorded 'letters' to Edison in 1888. In one of them, he talks about the latest fashion of speech in London - no more rolling R's "like Americans", they were replaced by W's. Vewwy ... umbwella, etc. He wasn't kidding, either - listen to the real war message from King George, more than 50 years later, and you'll hear Elmuh-fuddsian pwonunciation ! Then play "Let Us Not Forget" and hear Edison say "Ameddican" .
