Here are the lid stay on my machine...it looks to my eyes the same as on your machine, poodling around?
Sadly, mine doesn't have the original leather case handle - (it is missing) - but it has the original metal loopy bits.
Maybe you could look at the HMV 100's which have sold in the UK on ebay ? I am surprised how expensive some of them were. I bought mine from an auction and saw it thrown under a table on the cement floor, in a dark corner of the room, looking desolate and weeping because it thought no-one wanted it. So I got it for around £ 20.
Anyway, here is the link so you can compare handles for your-self maybe ?

I agree that obviously the carrying handle is a replacement, but I can see nothing wrong with the lid catch. Here is a picture of the one on my early 100. Looks the same to me!

Thanks poodling around, I of course had to check the Ebay listings immediately now.
And...what do you say about this model 100, sold on Ebay on March 29th this year...

To my eyes, the carrying handle metal parts looks exactly the same, as the one found on my machine ?
I also attach the photos of the carrying handle on my machine, and the one sold on Ebay.

I may have completely misunderstood this.

I never mentioned the lid stay!!!!
The carrying handle is a replacement. The one on Ebay shown is very different to yours anyway, but that one is probably also a replacement. Note though how it is a very closely machine-stitched handle with stitching almost to the ends but has different fixing rings to the normal 'D' type? The differences are fairly obvious to me. They are both as different to each other as they are to the standard handle design.

Your lock catch is correct, Barry, albeit it is the more rarely seen one on a 100. The one "nostalgia" has is different to yours (if you look closely) and I'm extremely doubtful it is original.

Yes, that's the one originally used on the Model 105 and subsequently carried over to the first 100's, although looking at the three of them now lined up together, I notice they are ALL different! Maybe HMV used any old lid catch / fastener available at the time so maybe there was no consistent type used during this transitional period of the 100? It does seem odd as later on, with the 101 and 102, for example, there was much greater consistency even when changes were made.
