Much thanks...
I thought this story might refer to 1908...
What is even odder is that Sutton's massive book on US Talking Machine/Record Manufacturers claims that this long-running legal Suit (revived in NY) NEVER succeeded, and that it was just a matter of continued (unfounded) harassment against TAE!
The same low-ball financial "detail" appears in From Tin Foil to Stereo on p. 113.
But sad to say, it would be the greatest financial penalty that Edison ever had to fork over, and the same lawyers then advised swift settlement before matters got even worse. Edison dug in his heels (as was his wont) and sure enough, it got "worse." When it was 'over' in April of 1909, he had to pay almost half a million dollars.
Those smooth-interior wax cylinders (no ribs), new copper diaphragms, and gateless mandrels, were all connected to "behind the scenes" machinations (injunctions) in the Courts. But TAE's old 1894 'settlement' of the North American Phonograph Co. never passed legal muster.

Re: It's Finally here!
Gents, I had a full blown stroke last year, but 8 months later, I've now fully recovered. Even all my doctors are quite amazed. I even lost 51 pounds to boot.. I was 218, Now 167 pounds (My Highschool weight). My entire Left side was paralyzed for months but with literally thousands of hours of physical rehab, Everything has now luckily come back, but it didn't happen by itself..It was tons of hard physical work.. I'm extremely lucky to even be here talking to you..let alone even typing this message and I know it. One of my casualties in all of this was my APS subscription.. I accidentally let it lapse because I had some real life issues to deal with. I tried logging in to renew my subscription, but it looks as if my APS account has been deleted..plus I need to catch up on all of the issues of the Antique Phonograph in print from the beginning of the year which I never received. The good news is that during my rehabilitation, I actually repaired an Edison Standard "A" for a customer that I had received before my stroke. Interestingly enough, It was the most stubborn machine that I've ever had to repair yet (Of course, It figures) as it was a borderline "parts machine" when I received it....so much so that I actually had to rebuild it twice! Anyway, I'm on the mend, and I have resumed doing Edison Repairs here in Central Florida for customers...sorry for the blathering..

Tony, welcome back and congratulations to your recovery. I know how difficult this is from my older brother as he was not as successful in his recovery. To hear your story is very encouraging. I'm sure your APS membership will be sorted out in no time.

Tony,
Congratulations on your recovery! An experience like that gives you a poignant appreciation for how precious life is.
As for re-joining the APS, if you have any difficulty, just send a message from the "Contact Us" section at the bottom of the APS home page. You'll be all set in no time.

Re: It's Finally here!
Much Thanks George P. ! I will do just that. As for my full stroke recovery, I consider myself very lucky, probably 1 in 100,000...especially making a full recovery in only 8 months. Probably a record somewhere... I was actually filmed during my recovery and it will wind up on youtube or some kind of show somewhere... but it was literally the hardest fight of my life..not only physically, but emotionally as well. I was literally on a emotional roller coaster. I have enough material to certainly write a self-help book and maybe I will someday. I was totally paralyzed on my entire Left side. My Left leg and Left arm were totally useless for months. The first two months I had to re-learn how to stand and how to walk all over again. The first 3 months I was entirely wheelchair bound. My Left leg came back first and by month 4, I was standing and taking baby steps but I was still a "Hot Mess"....literally. Month 5 and 6, I was already walking, albeit slowly and wobbly. My Left arm the first 6 months was literally just a useless piece of 20 pounds of dead meat. I couldn't use my arm or hand for literally 6 months. After thousands of hours of therapy, In Month 7, My Left arm finally came back... I'm able now to resume anything I did Pre-stroke. My stroke was caused by High Blood Pressure (The Silent Killer)..so check your blood pressure often. Interestingly enough, Both of my parents went on Blood Pressure meds in their 40's...and 10 years ago, I asked my doctor at the time whether I should be on them as well...and at the time I was 42 and he said "NO" emphatically. I said:, Are you sure? He said "Yes". Well, He was dead wrong, So Doctors aren't always correct. Hindsight is 20/20. I'm just lucky to have not only survived my ordeal, but also thrived afterwards. After going through everything that I would not wish on my worst enemy, It was certainly a surreal experience that is very hard to describe and articulate unless you have gone through it yourself. I certainly now have a much different view of perspective on things and life in general. I am 52 by the way.
