That's one label I've never been satisfied with. Between the overfiltering and use of things like copious added reverb (as in the case of their Ruth Etting CD) I steer clear.

On my own tranfers I sometimes leave a little too much hiss in, and I don't remove every single click and pop, because I don't want to sit behind my computer all the time and spend 3 hours editing on a single track. But as far as I'm concerned I prefer raw or under-processed files to over processed transfers. Just my 10 cents (or was it 5?)
Yes. For my own transfers that are to be listened to by me, I do very little, some quick EQ smoothing, and de-clicking and I'm done. I don't want to spend hours cleaning up record sides either, I rather spend that time listening to them. I only have so much time during the day, what with holding down a job and all, little things like that.
However, in the case of putting transfers on YouTube, I will spend more time on them, trying to give them a nice coat of spit n' polish.

The problem is, and I recall this has been addressed before, many people don't have a clue how a good a 78 rpm record can sound, so they are easily impressed. That's why a guy on Youtube who plays Winifred Atwell records on a crapophone can get raving commentaries.
You also have to consider that a large part of the You Tube crowd are probably listening on 12 dollar plastic computer speakers with 3" drivers.
The niceties of sound quality, lost, like so many leaves on the autumn breeze.

I like to be different... I have Bose speakers for my PC.
