My survivors consider themselves lucky (as they should be) to be "burdened" with my collection whatever the value or lack there of when I am gone

Unless we have to move and downsize, it will probably be our daughter’s “problem” to deal with the 30+ phonographs around here. She has already indicated that there are only 2 or 3 that she would consider keeping and I don’t think she has any interest in the 8 or so 1960s-1980s turntables that are also around the house.

That said, I’m not really looking for much more (and don’t have room for much more) unless another Vitaphone comes around or I find a Sonora Symphony or Brunswick Cortez in decent condition. They are already taking over some rooms.

I only have a few machines, but my Columbia viva-tonal portable 163 would probably be the last to go. Sounds great, looks awesome when open and it sets on most tables. Honestly the only machine I really need with my record collection.

I just hosted David Z (dzavracky) and a friend of his last Sunday afternoon. Believe it or not the VV-XIV, Diamond Disc, and Panatrope are just adequate for entertaining, even tho we did play the Vic 3, Vokal upright, and Amberola 30.

The pump organ for sure got played way more than I thought it would. David, if I knew you were going to play jazz from scratch, I might have dusted the instrument. That was legitimately fun.
