George,

Thanks for the research and for posting the results. There are so many opinions and hearsay in any hobby so it is most excellent when opinion is backed up by actual documentation. I have a question though, if this was a joint effort between Jones and Gibson why isn’t it a Jones-Gibson traveling arm as in the Bell-Tainter collaboration? 😀 Carry on.

Well Mark, you'd need to ask collectors that question. Why is it a "Rolls," or a "Harley?" Even the component we call the Johnson sound box was a joint effort (and jointly patented) with Alfred Clark. Just a lazy shortcut I guess.
