Nipper painting

A very nice find!

Victor supplied the Nipper “painting” and ones of several of the Red Seal artists such as Caruso and others to dealers at a moderate cost. They are thickly printed on canvas and mounted on a framed stretcher to replicate an actual painting. The effect is quite convincing. I’ll locate the advertisement from The Voice of the Victor and post it later.

For the store location, you could check the dealer locator on the Victor-Victrola website. It is sorted by state so that might make searching difficult since you don’t hve that information. The site owner may have other search tools.

As I recall, you are from Knoxville, TN. There is a High Ave in Knoxville...

I live right outside of Nashville, the gentleman I got it from seemed to think it was from the Cleveland Ohio area but couldn't remember. He had some other items froma store from that area, but he was not certain. I too found the one in PA but not much about it.
