First Style Maroon Gem

Your first style Gem D's are very interesting. I can't help with early Gem D serial #s, but I do have a late C equipped with aftermarket 2/4 gearing and Gem E carriage w/ N reproducer. It is s/n 312406 which is only a little more than 2500 before your early Ds, so I thought the information would be helpful. I also have an ICS Gem C with a much later s/n, but assume these were using up unused stock and not a fair comparison.

Thanks David for the info. I'm sure the two machines that I have are not too far into the beginning of production of the maroon Gem model-D. It'll be interesting to see if any more of these show up and what the serial numbers are.
