On Saturday in the front of the lot and Sunday in the front corner of the room the vendor was showing a cylinder machine with a “ leopard type “ finish it looked like it had plating wearing off . Can anyone tell what machine that was ? It was cool looking , but the price was beyond my wallet. ($13000)

That was an Edison Idealia (or "Ideal" depending how early it was manufactured). The appearance of the bedplate finish is an intentional effect known as oxidized copper (a similar pattern can be found on the model L reproducers in early Amberolas, such as the 1A) This was Edison's highest quality machine, that would eventually be replaced by the Opera around 1911.
Due to their scarcity, they usually bring in that kind of money. $13,000 is not unreasonable, considering some have gone for more than $20,000.

Thanks Jerry. That was a nice thing to say. I haven’t had a lot to offer the group and I have been going through some physical issues that have caused some reflection and downsizing.

Ok Thank you , it was a beauty, if I had $13k I would’ve bought it. Did they also finish the crank that way? I received a crank that looks like that, in a lot of parts

As a point of clarity, the Ideal was produced first. Edison was quickly sued over the use of the Ideal name. After losing the suit, Edison changed the name to Idealia. Neither of them are common, but it's been my observation over the years that Ideal machines tend to bring more money as there's far fewer of them.
Both are very impressive machines. I'd love to own one but I doubt I will ever be able to afford one.
