Ok, so I being mostly a internal horn fan was unaware of the Victor V cabinet issue and being of course rare in that case. Some of us tend to enjoy the music while others tend to enjoy the rarity and mechanical features of unusual machines. Thus this forum is a great education for those of us who are not inclined to the details. So if I read the last post correctly the cabinet listed as Hertoz in fact still a Talking Machine cabinet? I wonder why the confusion in names then?

Many record cabinets are still unidentified as such, which makes the supply even shorter.

Try to find them in auctions and other public sales, offered among similar but non-phonographic half-size cabinets! Relative bargains could be made in such sales, because in direct comparison to other furniture, that is without correct attribution, even good quality record cabinets as mass-produced articles never reach such exorbitant prices.

Yes, sometimes I see cabinets that might be sheet music or records and often I can't tell for sure which is which.
