So I looked more carefully at the C$ 1200 machine - it has repro parts.....

Description
This was a short-lived and rare cylinder phonograph with unique features designed to avoid Columbia and Edison patents, but that was soon driven out of existence by Columbia's successful patent litigation. From the Horst Weggler Collection. Oak. Glass tube tonearm/stylus broken. The motor runs, but the brake needs adjustment. The horn and listening tube are not correct for the Echophone. Slight surface losses are evident on the oak base.

This is typical for these machines. The stylus is usually missing or an replica and the special small fitting horn and listening tubes are hens teeth. This is about the typical level of completeness of every Echophone around. It was a great deal.
