But the shipping is FREE.
Dude has weird feedback.
83% positive feedback. Most cane related.
If below 97% I always am questionable.
83%? No way.

He and various other incarnations have been using my pictures and that of many other reputable sellers for quite a while now.
Apparently he gets away with it long enough with various ruses (such as sending a “gift” with a tracking number) and then delaying the actual shipment (which he obviously can never make).
Anybody falling for this scam (which is not limited to phonographs, I see it in clocks, music boxes, etc.) will probably get refunded by eBay, but geez, why they can’t shut it down right away is incomprehensible, considering the way they monitor every listing with AI. My listings get shut down if, God forbid, I mention a word about being a business that has an actual life outside of eBay.

Didn’t know it was for sale again!
Hopefully it did not arrive with a bungee cord attached. Maybe you just leased it.

eBay is the strangest bunch of arrogant incompetents I have ever dealt with. It's a great platform till it's not. I used to sell TONS on there but then they started to work too hard at turning my hobby into a job with them as overlords. I took a break in July 2010 and I am still on it. I made scads of collector friends on there that I am still in touch with. We often buy and sell with each other. A few have passed on.
It was great when they left it alone and listened to what used to be the "community". I still buy quite a bit but I just haven't been able to bring myself to sell there again, though I likely should. Something about ALL records being "vinyl" and Crapophones being the first thing in "Worst Match" just offends my German assholiness. I do have to admit that some of the "You missed out on this item but there are more like it here" and "Inspired by your views" are good for a belly laugh though.

He's back with free shipping:
https://www.ebay.ca/str/riyex
And there are others:
https://www.ebay.ca/str/topascreat46
Sometimes they have price tags for the very identical machine that differ by more than 100%.
This high-end Edison Class M was sold by Miller and Miller in March 2022 for Ca$ 30,000:

Here it is again for US$ 5,800, with all pictures stolen and the description copied and pasted:

Happy bidding

From a friend who used to work at ebay: it is easier for ebay to sort out the mess after the sale, rather than employ people to police the site. Which is why I keep clear of buying on ebay. From what I see, with disc machines, its over 90% crapophones!

It goes on:
https://www.ebay.ca/itm/156717173635
https://www.ebay.ca/itm/156717938338
two posts for the same machine, with a wrong description, pictures all stolen from the Kornberg's:
https://www.technogallerie.com/shop/190 ... -original/
I reported this, but the answer was:
"A decision was made on the listing you reported
Hello radio-antiks, Thanks again for reporting the listing(s) you found. What happened:

And now he's listing several tinfoil phonographs, including the Edison Demonstration Model modified by Tainter as the first Graphophone, and which is in the Smithsonian. Somehow I don't think they deaccessioned it and shipped it off to India, to be sold for $1790. (And free shipping!)
