As for records, I look at records offered on eBay. Not necessarily with thoughts of buying there, but to suggest interesting titles and artists. From eBay, I then go to YouTube and search for the interesting title/artist and listen to the song. This way, I discover what music appeals to me and I refine my searches from there.

I’ve found estate sales a source of records. Both LP’s & 78rpm records. Here is a link to sales within your area. Sometimes it’s just fun to do some exploration of someone else’s relatives home and belongings. Last couple of Tyears I’ve found some interesting
United records, an early Standard disc machine, Edison Fireside plus various vinyl records. Plus a large Edison C19 in oak.

I look at it as MCM archeology!

Also thrift stores and antique malls. I couldn’t believe it, a few years ago I found a copy of George Formby’s 78 “When I’m Cleaning Windows” in one of our junky Thrift malls. And it was in E- condition!

Interesting records pop up in the most unexpected places. I also found a Comedian Harmonists 78 for only 2 euros in a second hand clothes thrift store. That same record in eBay fetches usually 20 euros or more...
If you like 78s you must look for them in any of those places they've told you. Never reject any place... Here I've also bought interesting 78s at 2nd hand book stores, for instance .. Besides that, as this is not their business, they sell them cheap to get rid of them. What buying people's libraries, they are sometimes forced to take other things aside, as records.

Don't neglect asking for 78s at record stores specializing in vinyl. There's one in Rochester NY that GIVES AWAY the 78s people bring in. A friend of mine carried out a big stack which included The Charleston on an Edison disc.

That's exciting!! My dad and I are going to go to a record store today, it's small and local but I'm hoping to find something!!

Check out the Bay City Antiques Warehouse. I have not been there in years, but they always had lots of 78's in the basement. I think there's usually some records at the Saginaw Antique Warehouse, https://saginawantiquewarehouse.com/
Also, Mike's Antique Mall, in Millington, MI. A forum member usually has phonographs & records in his booth at Mike's.
