Now the Long Play conversion is another matter completely. That sets it apart from all those I’ve seen. That’s unique. The last one I saw was last year at a thrift store in Sandwich Illinois. It was in curbside condition for $400. No Long Play or figure6 diaphragm.ChesterCheetah18 wrote: Thu May 08, 2025 10:55 am I bought a CC-32 at Stanton's many years ago for a very good price. It was one of Tim Fizer's machines, and those of you who know Tim are aware it was impeccably restored. It also has a Long Play conversion with a good LP reproducer. Like any DD machine with a 250 horn, it sounds very good with a properly rebuilt reproducer. It sounds amazing with a figure6 diaphragm, and it plays LP records just fine.
Is it my favorite DD machine? Probably not, but I'm still keeping it around.

At that price it is probably still there LOL. Actually, at the same auction I bought my machine at, a set of Long Play gearing with the changing switch only (no LP reproducer) sold for over twice what I paid for the whole machine. I still don't quite understand that, but I'm not complaining either.Damfino59 wrote: Thu May 08, 2025 11:42 amNow the Long Play conversion is another matter completely. There was a #4 LP console at Wayne a few years back. What a beast! It was about the size of a twin bed. It had both reproducers and worked just fine. Not top condition, but certainly restorable, and had a $250 price tag. The two reproducers were worth that. If I could have just taken the mechanism, reproducers, and a few other things, ai would have bought it and left the cabinet behind, but there was no way I could have possibly taken the whole monstrous thing home.Damfino59 wrote: Fri May 09, 2025 11:04 pm
I have a friend who owned at one time a Long Play Console #3. He had quite a time selling it as it was a big long console. One person did offer his price but just wanted the mechanism! And leave the hulking cabinet behind. This was back in the early 1990’s. Even brought it to one of the Union shows. It didn’t sell. Lots of lookers though. He had to move that thing twice in & out of his un-air-conditioned Chevy truck. I don’t help with that kind of foolishness anymore. Eventually it did sell.
