I looked at it and figured that if it was actually something that played, it was some type of cheap music box. Definitely NOT a phono as advertised.

It seems that a lot of care went into "creating" this.

As the seller states, "it may be a reproduction," but of course there's no "may" about it, and it does not "reproduce" anything that ever was offered by any of the major manufacturers.

Still, on the plus side, it's fitted with a quality Plano-Reflex style tonearm and Columbia Viva Tonal sound box which--in good overhauled condition--should perform well. The horn, also, looks to be of better quality than the ones found on most Crap-O-Phones. In addition, the "creator" used conventional screws instead of Phillips screws to attach the motor-board.

If the motor is in good condition, it might be worth a few hundred for someone who wants something different. (It reminds me of the "Sea Captain's" custom brass full size victrola knock-off that was posted here a few years ago.)
