Re: The Sad Passing of Allen Koenigsberg
What sad news.
I've been in contact with Allen since the 1970s, after the publication of Antique Phonograph Monthly.
He was an internationally recognized authority in our community through his research and writings.
May he rest in peace.
Julien.

Allen Koenigsberg was major source of information for us older collectors. His catalog of books and journals were my first source of reliable information on antique phonographs. I think I discovered him through the Hobbies magazine advertising amongst the want ads alongside the Jim Walsh column.
He will be greatly missed.
May he rest in peace,
Glenn

Re: The Sad Passing of Allen Koenigsberg
I was deeply saddened to hear of Allen's passing. His book, The Patent History of the Phonograph, 1877-1912, was one of the starting points for my own research many years ago. Who doesn't know the abbreviation “PHP” ? I have always taken to heart his principle that the date of the patent application(!) must always be given special attention.
For over 15 years, we regularly exchanged emails on phonographic topics. We did not always agree, but our scholarly exchanges were consistently productive. His last email arrived on March 27 with the subject line “question - not urgent.” I had replied immediately.
Sit tibi terra levis, Allen Seymour.
