It seems that almost anything can be copied in the Indian sub-continent. My father, who worked for Royal Ordnance, was seconded to the Pakistan Government in 1960/61. Whilst there he saw replica Lee-Enfield rifles being made near the Khyber Pass. They were certainly accurate copies. Every one bore the same serial number as the original Lee-Enfield which the craftsmen were copying!

It’s now disappeared but it was listed for a long time. I wonder what happened to that one, and if indeed this is the same machine. It was listed for £100 with seemingly no takers.
