Thanks for all the info provided by your comments..I really so appreciate being able to hear from those who have so much knowledge in this field. Here is a picture of a Victor Credenza I found a couple of years ago and an old Stromberg-Carlson radio that I couldn't pass up because the cabinet was so beautiful.

so do you do the restoration work on these as well, or do you happen to find them already looking so complete, well cleaned and polished?

I have in the past done some very minor restoration work, the Credenza was in fairly rough shape when I first found it but I was lucky enough at that time to have a friend who was really very good at doing restorations but due to health reasons does not do them any more. THe Stromberg radio I picked up at an Estate sale in the condition that you see it...it was very well kept for sure.

Finally got around to work on the VTLA cabinet this wknd. I didn't teally do all that much but the results were good..I think. I also have a small 1-90 that I need to attend to..any advise as to where get the spring repaired and maybe the whole motor cleaned up. Also need to find a matching grill cloth for it. Thanks much as always for the information and help given.

Since your in Manitoba. Bob Nix in Ontario is your best bet. He does all repairs. You can find him on line under the "Gramophone Doctor".

I rec'd an email from Bob Nix this past summer that he would no longer be doing
any more gramophone repairs. He plans to spend more time with his family..that was the last I heard.
