Good point, especially for wax Amberols. Perhaps unwanted resonance is the reason some cylinders have strange wear patterns. Compare the K and S to the O and M reproducers which use a single two-sided stylus bar, and therefore don't have the extra vibrating mass to cause trouble. Although, in their original form they were deemed to be too heavy for wax Amberols.
