A Western Electric Non-synchronous reproducer set (2 turntables with 4a oil damped pickups), and perhaps a Western Electric 15a horn loudspeaker, or perhaps a similar Racon or Amplion unit.
I can dream, can't I?

Dear Santa,
Should you find an extra Columbia, Model BF, cylinder player in a corner of your workshop I would be very happy to take it off your hands. My second choice would be an external horn Victor. You can decide which one. I'm not too picky.
Cheers Santa!

It was $9500 and I only had $9499 on me at the time. Lol sorta.Skihawx wrote:A Pooley VTLA is a nice thing to have on a wish list. Wow that Pooley flat top is something. And why is it not in your living room now?
I guess a Walnut Amberola 1A would be near the top of my list, (and will likely remain on the list for a long long time....)

Re: Phonograph wish list....
Like I said . . . it was 'only' $9500 and I was just a dollar or two short that year. If I could have afforded it, I would not have had the slightest anxiety over buying it. There was a mahogany example at Union that year for, IIRC, $4500 . . . but the cherry one had ruined me.Valecnik wrote:Wow that Pooley flat top is something. Well I can certainly relate to that "dollar issue" you mention. Been there myself, drooling over something that, given it's rarity and attractiveness to me, is a once only opportunity and just could not afford it.JohnM wrote:Like I said . . . it was 'only' $9500 and I was just a dollar or two short that year.
