I also don't care for the readily available kelly green felt you see everywhere. If you go to the fabric store, you can get wool felt in pretty much any color you want. I bought a bunch of "antique green" felt and that's what I use for my turntables. It looks great, and has natural looking variations in the dye. It's not cut, but what I do is spray it with adhesive, then lay the turntable on it, then cut it out with an x-acto knife. I looks better than the die cut ones because it's cut to fit, sometimes those are a little off center, or don't go all the way to the edge. Cutting it is really pretty simple, and easier than trying to center a pre-cut one, in my opinion.

Thanks to all for the comments. George V. (the great phono guy, not HRH) has found some great used felt that should work for me. He's been very helpful in my various projects ! I agree with Brandon, it's a lot easier to adhere oversize felt to the turntable first and then trim around with a very sharp knife. I believe that's the way Victor did it. Much faster than trying to exactly center a perfectly cut piece.
