That crank looks exactly like the ones used in the early VV-IV and VV-VIs.

The front crank hole looks to be for a Victor E and the back one for the Victor 11 The Victor E did turn into the Victor 11 But the Victor E has a smaller cabinet. I also don't think the horn is right to the machine.

Also the back bracket and slip horn elbow did not come with this machine. The Vic 11 did have a slip on horn elbow but not on the humpback.

I suspect the bullet brake is a reproduction, although it's hard to tell from a photograph. The crank escutcheon looks very odd too.

The earliest humpback IIs used the same motor as the E which was a 2 barrel bevel gear, although not the same case. When the II changed to the spiral gear motor it also lost one spring. I agree that the crank is probably from an early VV-IV or VI.

I think it's a cobbled machine.

My guess is that this machine was modified with some sort of electric motor. Could have been in the 1950's or 1970's. The hole on the bottom for the cord. The hole on the side for some sort of switch? The holes on the top to mount the electric motor. Then someone found the machine and collected parts to put it back together. Except maybe not all them are the exact parts.

I think you are wrong. I have a Victor E and a Victor11. Both have the same motor and both have one spring.

I'll let others jump in here, but all the Type Es I've seen have the 2 spring bevel motor. The one spring motor was correct for R, Z, or early I, but not the E. It only went to one spring with the spiral gear. It's possible that there are some one spring spiral gear E's however, again I'm sure Victor used all their inventory, even if it was outdated.

Perhaps the Victor Motor Guide will help sort out the motor questions.
