I'm reviving this ancient post from 9 (!) years ago with a follow up.

At the APS show in southern CA a couple of years back I found an original snapshot showing the very same Manhattan coin-op, with all the same wall decorations. The back of the print told the story (see below).

So, these photos date to the 1940s and were taken at Woodymay Records in Boston. Woodymay advertised extensively in Hobbies magazine at the time, selling original cylinders and early discs, as well as a crystal pickup reproducer to electrically play cylinders. For example:
