I see the discussion about this has moved to the UK and German boards.
In any event, some posters have dismissed this as a "Frankenphone." Based on the new photos posted on the German forum, showing the motor, and all the information provided on the three forums currently tracking it, I'd hardly call it that.
It seems that the word Frankenphone has come to refer to
any talking machine (or phonograph) fitted with a few replacement components, such as sound boxes, horns, etc. But, when the phrase was first coined about 20-25 years ago, it was used to describe this type of "re-creation":

In addition to an inside-horn model converted to an outside-horn machine, "Frankenphone" also referred to a talking machine or phonograph fitted with several parts culled from machines made by other manufacturers -- A VV-XI cabinet containing a turntable, motor and crank from a Columbia Grafonola, a Brunswick Ultona tonearm, or a horn from a similar sized Silvertone cabinet, etc.
The HMV 33, as noted, does not have its original horn & elbow, or sound box; but everything else seems to be authentic to that model. I don't think it qualifies as a "Frankenphone."
Just my two cents.
