These photos look kind of staged; particularly the first one of the Columbia phono. You know how folks use that horrid stuff to make pieces of furniture look even older? More "weathered?" Looks like someone took a spray can of that stuff on the phono--and particularly on the door to the right (see how blotchy it is). Some "Goth" types set this all up. Sure, it's all evocative, but I'm saying "staged."

It looks like flood and mold damage compounded by vandalism to me, especially in the other photos of the house.

Estott, you're one of the "wise dudes" around here and I'll lay aside my conspiracy theory for the moment. Man, though: it seems almost TOO perfect a scene of ruination. Ruination, like evil, is usually more banal and not peopled by so many amazing things (even a square piano, for goodness sakes. Anyone spot the body of Jeremy Bentham rotting in a corner?)
