Agree that it's brass. Did Abe look at the same machine? He said the soundbox wasn't brass.

Now I get it. Abe visited this machine and turned it down. Too bad for Abe. Photo posted by antique1973 sent by seller clearly shows a brass reproducer, that makes the project worthwhile, that is why I made the drive. Yes, it was busted on top and the finish on lid was worn and plating is rough AND $110 for a set of springs, well, that's par for the course, I'll take what I can get. Other than cosmetics and springs the machine is fine, no missing pieces.

It's OK that someone got the machine, But I am not sure that that was the reproducer that I saw. The owner said he got it at an estate sale and he told me that he had gotten some other parts with the machine that he could not find when I had gotten out there. He also had someone come out and look at the machine and at that point it did not work at all, But the guy fixes antiques and he played with the machine and got it to work and told him what it might sell for. He called me a few days later to tell me that he found the trim pieces and that he was going to put them on. I was in Flagstaff tied up on an insurance job and since I already had a Credenza I did not rush to get it. When i got back it was gone. And like I said enough projects and Jerry will tell you I don't like em rough.
By the way ya got to add gas in the cost as well.
I am headed to Bangkok and then to Pakistan so things will be interesting-Wonder if I will find any phonographs there?.

Glad you were able to pick it up Bruce. I picked up a "Baby" brand phonograph in Tempe but it needs a spring too. It was made for Little Wonder records. Hopefully I will have it running shortly.Covah wrote:Now I get it. Abe visited this machine and turned it down. Too bad for Abe.
