I was searching through my photo files for something unrelated when I came across this image, taken in our driveway about 4 ½ years ago. I thought to myself, "That was a good day," and it reminded me of Jerry's current posting.

I thought about starting a thread picturing good days of the past, but then it seemed better to keep everything together as long as Jerry got the ball rolling. Anyway, I thought it might be fun to see photos of other "good days..."

I hope others will post their photos, past and present.

This was what I brought home about 4 hours after answering the phone one Saturday morning not too long ago. The guy began with, "Do you still collect old phonographs?" It was a good day!

Great find! How much of it do you still have? The horn looks very interesting. I'd guess it is the oldest object in the photo. Thanks for the post. Jerry

Jerry,

I kept the 3 cylinder cabinets and the horn. The cabinets all came from the same house in a small town an hour from here - along with the Home on the left. I kind of wanted to keep the Home with the cabinets, but ultimately I just couldn't justify keeping it.

Very nice George. I can think of a very "good day" I had a few years ago. It was finding and buying a small collection of seven machines and in that collection was my hot-air machine and the mahogany Victor 5. To find two very rare machines together was mind blowing.

This only proves that there are goodies still waiting to be discovered. If you put enough time in the hobby, some of these goodies will end up at your door step!
