Interesting to me that the oak finish costs less than the mahogany. In today's market, the reverse seems to be true.

I think the spring needs to be cleaned and re-greased. HMV used graphite grease in those days, and that stuff tends to harden over the years. If you've never done it before I think it's best to take it to a good gramophone dealer near you. There's no need to take the entire machine with you, it's very easy to remove the motor. The oak finish is nicer than what's shown in the pictures. The spring Motor is clean and running quietly.Also all parts look like original (to me).
However, it is not without issues. In the back of the cabinet there is a little bit delamination, if one looks closely. The more severe problem is that the speed slows down during play. Now I am trying to find the cause of the problem and to fix it. Anyone knows how to fix this problem, let me know.
