The cabinet in question appears to be a Herzog No.826. Seventeen years ago when we were writing
Gadgets, Gizmos, and Gimmicks, we hadn't found this one in a catalog yet...!

I had a treadle sewing machine that was in a cabinet almost identical to that one. It was oak and a guy gave me two pump organs for it a long time ago! I don't remember the maker of the machine now, but it was a stencil name like Ruby or something along that line. I would have never thought of it as a record cabinet with that odd shape, but it was also an odd thing for a sewing machine to be in as well. Well, good luck with your quest. It's an interesting looking cabinet, that's for sure.

The type of house that this was made for required a large ornate cabinet to keep the Vic VI from disappearing in the room...

George, just to be clear, the post started off with the pictures of the double door. That's the 826?
The last two photos I found are a single door version. Is its number known?
Thanks,
James

Sorry; I should have been more clear. I was referring to the cabinet we showed in our book (the single-door version) as the No.826. I still haven't found any documentation on the double-door version.

I paid 4000.00 for this one and had to ask a lot of people if it was worth it. But I think the other one is ugly?
