I did attempt "round one" with Abe's trick (Screw = 1; Me = 0), but the screw's surface area is so small, and the awkward angle of screw's location on the remote (it doesn't sit flat), made it difficult to allow the super glue to set up without the drill bit falling out.Henry wrote:Without seeing it, I can't tell, and since it's stuck down in there, I'd have to remove it to see it, and round and round we go..... Wish I could offer you MORE helpful suggestions like that one!
Have you tried Abe's trick with the superglue yet? Let us know if that works. BTW, I'd suggest using isopropyl alcohol instead of lacquer thinner. The alcohol will not damage common plastics, whereas the thinner will surely soften and distort most plastics on contact. Also, be real careful not to superglue anything that you want to separate later; IOW, use a very small amount of superglue placed very carefully on the surfaces to be joined. Better safe than....
As you wisely suggested, I was VERY conservative with the super glue to avoid joining together parts that I would have difficulty putting asunder! Perhaps a bit too cautious...
I am planning to take another crack at it this weekend when I don't feel so hostile about being defeated by such a tiny opponent!
