The pictures may be misleading there, mine does not have a raised motor board. Based on the Victor Data Book it is the last L-door and came originally with albums, opposed to the earlier versions that came with record boxes.
Thanks

rizbone wrote:Looks mahogany to me. I think the VV XVI to the left of that machine was the walnut one. The original books that came with the L-Door were a little wider (more like boxes with dividers) and would have letters A-J with one each in the side compartments and four 12" disks in the center. I posted a picture of them at
http://forum.talkingmachine.info/viewto ... f=9&t=9378. There are currently at least 3 people on the forum looking for these. They sometimes turn up on e-bay but are usually expensive.
No, mine was the one markes as "Walnut". The one left from it was the ebonized Oak. Mine looks very close to the American Walnut sample in the Victor Data Book, but I was suspecting Magogany because of the wood grain. Looking at it closely, I think it may have been re-amalgamized excessively, because the finish looks pretty thin in some areas, and a couple small runs in others. Not too obvious, but that might cause the light color tone.
Thank you very much for the info about the albums. I had forgotten about that picture.
Thanks again
Andreas

They were a maroonish brown with the Nipper logo in gold on the front with a gold pull ring on the spine. Hope this helps.

Thanks Wes. I'll keep that information handy. Maybe I get lucky some time and find the correct folders.
