The best things I found inside a Diamond Disc machine were a small leather bag full of $20 gold pieces, a Bettini attachment and reproducer along with a pink Lambert cylinder and a half eaten sandwich from Subway...

I brought home a Columbia Viva-Tonal last year and saw something scurry out of the corner of my eye as I began to open it up for some cabinet repair. A family of roaches had set up housekeeping inside. Yuck!

Fortunately there was a can or raid handy.

This is something I always worry about when bringing home antique furniture or phonographs, I'd hate for a roach family to decide to stay...

Oh yes, those creep me out...
I do have to give credit to the spider that helped me discover the original owners manual to my C-19, though. Whilst trying to exterminate it, the little bugger slipped through the record storage slots. When I used a flashlight to locate it, there sat the manual wedged in the corner, covered in decades of dust. The spider got away, as I was too focused on recovering the manual at that point. It may still be lurking behind my diamond discs to this day...

Unless it's a Black Widow or a Brown Recluse, I wouldn't worry. Spiders are useful for keeping other bugs at bay…

On the platter is under the lid, so technically that makes it inside the phonograph...
