Crap-O-Phones...plain old crap.
I would not spend that much on crap when you can have the real deal, even if it is a common VV-VI, it is still the real deal.
These machines appeal to those that are really not into the machines other than just some decor.

I just had to revive this old thread again when I saw this. I would call it an "Igor Talking Machine Model A", because there is not much Standard in this. Brace yourselves...

Others dismantle nice original machines to make more money on the parts. This guy has a bunch of disconnected but usable parts and tries to sell them together as a "Vintage" machine

I really don't get it.

The name of the seller, Crumscollectibles is perfect for this machine. It's crummy alright. However, I see potential for this machine. The bracket and tone arm assembly looks like it's from a Victor III or IV. Discard that MickeyMouse horn and elbow (no offense to Mickey), replace with a Victor elbow and horn, and you have a very valuable part. The correct Standard bracket, arm, and horn assembly is a common part, and would complete this machine.

I tried to look through this entire thread, but stopped.
Unfortunately, I cannot "unsee" the images of crapophones, in their never-ending variety.
I will now have nightmares.
I suspect PTSD will follow...

Yes, I agree, there are some nice usable parts, but $399 for them might be stretching it. A purchase could also encourage him to continue down that path

Another great candidate for the "ugliest ever" category

It has to be real 1920s, because there is a handwritten card that says so.

Some of these crapophones would make a good foot stool...You could leave the horn attached for an ash tray....
