Re: VV-XI period finish?
We've kind of beat this topic of painted Victrolas to death. I sent a personal message to scooter because it was his lead and I would never step on anyones toes, but he did not reply and it's been several days. I contacted the seller and he should be sending several additional photos to confirm it's an old job of decoration. I'll pay his asking price. My proposal... If a Victrola with a special finish is only worth $300 to $500, I will buy every Victrola with a special finish that is period correct. It could be done by the Victor factory or shortly after retail purchase. I'm retired and will plan on a trip around the country with my pickup and trailer to pick them all up. Anyone have one for sale? It's a cash offer. Jerry Blais

Sorry Jerry for not noticing my messages. It's all yours. Let us know if you get more pictures and what you learn about the machine.

Interested in a Japanese lacquered Columbia L-2? It was NOT done by Columbia, but it was done by a dealer when new. I love the machine and I bought it about 20 years ago from an elderly couple in their 90s who had it given to them as a wedding present! I'm in upstate NY and it would have to be picked up, so if you're interested, let me know, I'd love to see it go into a collection. I've had it in dry storage for several years now.Jerry B. wrote:We've kind of beat this topic of painted Victrolas to death.
