Interested in a Japanese lacquered Columbia L-2? It was NOT done by Columbia, but it was done by a dealer when new. I love the machine and I bought it about 20 years ago from an elderly couple in their 90s who had it given to them as a wedding present! I'm in upstate NY and it would have to be picked up, so if you're interested, let me know, I'd love to see it go into a collection. I've had it in dry storage for several years now.Jerry B. wrote:We've kind of beat this topic of painted Victrolas to death. I sent a personal message to scooter because it was his lead and I would never step on anyones toes, but he did not reply and it's been several days. I contacted the seller and he should be sending several additional photos to confirm it's an old job of decoration. I'll pay his asking price. My proposal... If a Victrola with a special finish is only worth $300 to $500, I will buy every Victrola with a special finish that is period correct. It could be done by the Victor factory or shortly after retail purchase. I'm retired and will plan on a trip around the country with my pickup and trailer to pick them all up. Anyone have one for sale? It's a cash offer. Jerry Blais
