I advise you to sell nothing from your collection until you decide how you want to sell the entire collection. That way, if you decide to take it to auction, it can be offered as a complete, untouched collection assembled over X number of years never before offered for sale. This is the type of thing that will bring in the serious collectors.
Secondly, call Steve Stanton for a consultation. It certainly can't hurt. He knows how to promote phonographs, he has a loyal following and he gets the money. I would check with other auctioneers also, but I think Steve is your guy if you can make it work.

I have been selling a Lionel train collection over the last several years. I have sold mostly on ebay and at train shows with a few individual sales thrown in. I have been successful, but it has taken countless shows and listings with all of the costs and logistical headaches that go with it to get to the point where I'm still left with a bunch of pieces no one wants. I would like to have been able to have one good auction, blow it all out and be done with it and probably have ended up with about the same money.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do, and keep us posted.

Jim

If possible I would try to find an auction house that knows phonographs and how to market them. With 300 I am also thinking that Stanton's might come to you to do an action in your area. Worth at least a call I'd think.

Greetings. Lori and myself are in the market to acquire an intact collection. Would that be of interest to you? Cheers, Russie

Just wondering how things went / are going?

Have not seen anything in terms of a sale or auction when doing a search.
