where did you get your speaker work done? I have a C-4 also and might need some speaker work.

The speaker was done while in ChuckA's care, he will be able to answer that for you.

Congratulations on getting yours running. How do records sound on it? I just got back my Edison 1930 R-6 radio chassis. My radio man said he doesn't want to see another Edison again because they are a pain to fix. This was the second radio man I took this too. The first guy had disconnected a ground in the power supply which created a shocking hazard on the tuner, but my radioman tested it with the proper tools first and was not shocked. I am going to my car now to bring it in and see how it sounds. Darn it, looks like I've lost the power cord. Can these be easily made?

These are some of the simplest units to restore, he should try an Edison R-1, R-2, or C-2 if he wants to feel pain.

Thanks! Yes, it does work. i just ended the video too soon.

On mine, In the back there is a power cord that comes from the turntable motor and goes to a toggle switch. Is the toggle switch original? Do you have a toggle switch to go from radio to phono? And if you do, where is the toggle switch located?

There should be two power cords from the side of the power supply chassis. One goes to the phono motor, the other goes to the power switch on the radio chassis. Sounds like the power switch contacts on the motor are missing or bad, or the auto shutoff mechanism is gone.



The phono/radio switch is attached to the radio volume control, turning it full CCW connects the pickup to the radio chassis.

The original grill cloth on my C-4 was burgundy. Not being a perfectionist, I replaced it with a gold one which was more to my liking. Job well done. Hope this helps!
