Yes, the M reproducer does command a high price these days. But it (and the similar model O) is the best 2-minute reproducer that Edison ever made when it is properly restored. When combined with the superior horn of the Amberola 1A, you will hear the best reproduction of 2 minute cylinders that can be had from authentic original equipment. It took me a few years to locate an M for my Amberola, but it's the only thing I use these days for playing 2 minute records. And the Diamond A used in the Amberola 1A or 1B also produces the best 4-minute playback that can be had on original equipment (the Amberola III is a close second). There is a good reason to want these machines and these reproducers.

Greg, I have been using a Triumph D2 for over 40 years. It is equipped with both properly rebuilt O and Diamond B reproducers and an oak Music Master Horn. That is a combination that is hard to beat, in my opinion. My Amberola 1A has a Diamond A which I have rebuilt, but I have only had the machine for a few weeks and have not had time to do serious comparisons between the two. Both are excellent sounding instruments in their own right and I am very pleased to finally have both.
I'm trying to figure out how to do the plumbing and linkage necessary to mount an O (nondestructively) to the Amberola. I have seen it done with a Diamond A, but I can't remember how it was done.
