There was one pic I didn't post that showed a closeup of one of the reproducers
and the date on it was 1913, The seller says they are all original from an
estate. Thanks Bill

I saw that listing on eBay and thought it was really neat. I think you did OK, and it is nice to have the old box. They looks to be in very nice condition. Gaskets may need changing though, just due to the passage of time.

I'm pretty sure the stylus on that Diamond Disc reproducer is almost flat. You'll need a new one but unfortunately most of them come needing replacement.

Well I just got the reproducers today that I bought on ebay. They are very nice and all original
with nice shiny nichol plating. The DD does have a nib still on the stylus, so I checked it out
with one of the edison recreations I got with one of my old victrola's and it sounded pretty
darn nice. I'm posting some photo's and a closeup of the DD needle so someone, anyone can tell me
how long it may last before replacing. The 78 reproducer has a date on it of Apr 22 1913 and the
name is Balance. It plays nice as well. Does anyone know who rebuild the DD reproducers? If so give
me an email and let me know who. Thanks

Gene, that diamond looks like it has a nice tip still to me. Can you see if there are any worn or chipped spots on it around the entire 360 degrees of it?
It shouldn't be a perfect sharp point, I don't believe.
Do you have a loupe?

The tip should be conical, meaning evenly rounded all the way around, if that helps. A loupe will reveal any obvious faults.

Thanks Fran & Sean I do have a loupe 2 infact a 7x and an 8x from when I
worked for Kodak as a film examiner, I forgot I had them. Just used both of them
and the tip is conicle with no apparent chips, tip looks very nice and smooth
up to the top, it hasn't been abused, just 100 years old. Like I said I played
DD record and it sounded very good. The 78 repoducer sounds good too. I'm
pleased with the purchase and the seller did an outstanding job packing the items.
Once I get the machine all set to go I will post a video for you all to see.
