I think you should mount it on your ceiling and use the brackets to hang your bicycles from!

It has been a VERY long time. We are in the middle of trying to sell our 1885 house in a very tough selling market (and right before winter is NOT the ideal time in this part of the country), as we are downsizing to something about half the size without having to spend every free moment trying to maintain this old house, remove snow, keep up the yard, and deal with everything else life throws at a person at the same time.

We bought a condo on the river which closes the 28th of this month... so much to do, so much to downsize... and no idea "where" to start. One never really knows until they are in a place for a while what will work, what will not, what fits, and what needs to go.

I suppose that is one good thing about not being forced out of one's current home by some arbitrary closing date by a prospective seller... we have some time to leave the questionable items in our current home. We do have an offer that we signed, but the prospective buyers have a home sale contingency, and in the current market around here (and at their listing price), we could be hanging on to two homes (i.e., two winter heating bills, property tax payments, home maintenance, etc.) for months and months.

That said, I am excited about the prospect of eventually not having to shovel another walkway, deck, front stairway, alleyway... nor mow, or weed another yard again!! :rose:

It's been 24 years since we moved, and everything went smoothly, but the memory of the gargantuan project still haunts me! :)

Good luck with your move, Tink! :)

You could display it in my living room... Just a thought. Always willing to help a brother out!

Thank you, George. :D The magnitude of the task ahead has me a bit overwhelmed at the moment.

Slow, deep breaths, slow, deep breaths... Okay,so how exactly are these slow, deep breaths supposed to help me get stuff sorted, organized, prioritized, boxed up and moved??

I cannot even begin to imagine what it must be like for those of you with massive collections of phonos, fans, and other what-nots! :rose:

Hi Tink, Good to have you back. We've missed you. Good luck with the move. We did that about 14 yrs ago and I wouldn't go through that again for anything. Jan.

Ironically, when my husband and I relocated here from California in 1999, he said "we're going to die in this house." I think he thought the move 15 years ago was tough... and his company packed up and moved our meager possessions for us!

This next move (and downsizing) will hopefully be the LAST time we ever have to move (of our own volition). Thanks for the well wishes, Jan! :rose:

Oh boy.

If I had that, I'd keep it as original as possible (any repairs needed) and display my favorite albums in mint minders.
It'd make a great piece, but it depends on your home/ decor. I don't like my place to look too much like a Victor-Applebees, but something like this could still work- it just depends on the room. I think as-found it would be a wonderful addition to the right collector.

In my opinion, it'd be a shame to drill or cut it to make some kind of table or something (and honestly, it'd look just as freakish in a room where it'd look weird on the wall). Can't be many of those displays around. I'd sell to a collector, or hang it as-is to show off and provide easy access to my favorite albums.

Great to see. Thanks for posting it!
