I own about 8 of Norman's cylinders. I wish I could own them all. Norman does a great job, and considering the fact they are costly to make and that they are hard to find titles in original format, they are a bargain. Vulcan does great work, I was considering have them cut a cylinder "Fire!" by Earl Oliver, but the interest in this cylinder did seem to be too low to invest in the project.

I can hardly wait for "Some of these days", I may just opt for that one instead of "Phoebe Jane".

I love his channel rim brown wax replicas, and his late issue Blue Amberol cylinders. These would cost hundreds to thousands if you can find one, and even a good playing one at that.

I told Norm that I'd be interested in "Some Of These Days"by Sophie when he comes out with it.I have the original Amberol,but I don't dare play it.I taped it a few years ago,so when I want to hear it I can play the cassette.I got my copy in a group of cylinders that I bought from a local antique dealer.My friend Dan Nichols had a copy of"Some Of These Days",but sadly it got broken in an accident.I told him about Norm's reissue,and that I'd be interested in purchasing a copy.Dan said he may be interested as well.That'd be a GREAT record to play on my Triumph,and I'll also be able to play it on my maroon Gem and little Amberola 30! edisonplayer

Norm's records are absolutely the best. I think I have every Brown wax, and several of the Blue Amberol's he's produced. They are extremely high-quality and an excellent value. I can't wait to get my next two in a couple of days at Wayne!!!

These late issues by Norman are what I have been concentrating on with my Amberols, personally I would rather have a dozen of these than 50 original common records like "The Rosary" etc. To me it is quality over quantity.

Again, some collectors do like the more common waltzes etc. Its all a matter of taste.

Has anyone checked out Norman's release of Stomp Off Let's Go???? That one sounds hot.

I play them on either the Amberola V or my Triumph D-2 with a Don Gfell Oak cygnet MM horn and a Diamond B reproducer. It's almost TOO loud!

My friend Arthur Pare had quite a few Blue Amberols in the 5000 series that came from this dealer in Shelburne,VT by the name of Aunt Nell.She had a little store that sold odds and ends such as needles and thread in the 1920s.She also had a franchise for the Edison cylinder line.Arthur had some late 5000s,such as Ermine Calloway singing"Is There Anything Wrong In That?"The records were stored at his parent's home.Sadly,they were destroyed when they had a fire.He has them on cassette tape.Art told me,"Little did I know how much I'd enjoy hearing them on tape."edisonplayer

I have my Hexaphone loaded with Normans cylinders. They are great.
