Why didn't you? It only sold for $400!
I know, it was horrible! I only had a Volkswagen station-wagon to transport everything and
it was full when I bought a B-250.

Here's a great pic of the Amberola 1A. As you can see, it had been refinished but was still
quite a beautiful machine. I think it went rather cheap.

You guys are a hoot. Ha!
It is interesting to find out what some of the stuff sold for though. Does Stanton's post that on their site eventually? They would probably get more people to attend the future sales if they did.

Not a Pathé! (the machine in the background)
It is a "Concert Automatique" probably made by
The Concert French Automatic co
71, rue des Tribunes
Versailles-Porchefontaine
These machines generally used the Pathé vertical disc with Pathé style reproducer with sapphire. They produced an impressive volume for the period. The robust dual spring mechanism had a mechanism that stopped the turntable after 3 minutes. $400 was a steal.

Great talking with you at the auction. Thanks for the nice close up of the Amberola 1A. Are you a professional picture taker?
I hate to blow your cover, but I didn't find you to be grumpy at all. Hope to see you again. Good fun!

Thanks folks, for the lists!
Is 1100 items typical for this auction?
Best,
Fran

Yes Fran. They have a Spring & Fall auction that are usually of that size. Actually, there are quite a bit more items as there is always an addendum sheet of last minute items, not cataloged in the main list.

It was great meeting you too.
I've been told by many that I should quit my day job to take up photography, but I enjoy it more as a hobby.
I love the way the natural light brings out the grain in the mahogany cabinet in that picture.
