Ken;I did indeed line the inside of the original horn first with wax paper and then put foil faced tape over the wax paper.I then supported the horn from every direction so that the weight of the plaster going inside would not break the original horn. Plaster was then put into the horn a section at a time until it was filled to the top. I put large pieces of styrofoam in the middle of the wet plaster to take up some space so not as much plaster was needed. When the plaster was dry, I simply turned the horn upside down and gently worked the original horn off of the plaster mold It came loose fairly easy.

That is a Seeburg "C" that I restored about 10 years ago. I always loved the look of the C and when I got this, someone had sprayed the entire cabinet black. It took much longer to restore than the Herzog cabinet!

Dave and Lerria; Thanks for the kind words. The restoration is done on both the record case and the Berliner phonograph. Thanks to two very kind members of The Forum, I was able to acquire both an original J reproducer and an original crank. The horn has had all of the dents and bends removed and is currently being polished and lacquered.It should be done by this coming weekend,but I will be out of town for two weeks starting Monday and probably will not have time to post it as a Featured Phonograph until I return . I am going to get out of this cold and head to Florida.
