I've got a Ebonoid conversion kit for an Edison Standard, to enable it to play the Ebonoid 5 minute records. I'll dig it out and upload a photo in due course. Dulcetto

I'd love to see the photos and even better to see one in the flesh. With your permission, of course, could we put some photos in the next reprinting of RS 20 "The History of the Clarion Record"?

Herewith as promised , some photos of the Ebonoid conversion kit to fit an Edison Standard. As can be seen , the kit included a replacement stylus bar that incorporated a novel deign feature -- a flip over stylus rather in the same way that electrical cartridges of the 1960's could select either 78 rpm or microgroove stylus -- although it the case of the Ebonid stylus bar , there is just the one sapphire stylus which is wedge shaped , so the user could select either a normal tip for 2 minute cylinders or a fine tip for the Ebonoid records. Must have been fairly fiddly to use , as the tiny operating lever is so small !Dulcetto

Thanks very much for posting those fascinating pictures. Whilst I have known they existed, in over 40 years of collecting I've never seen one of the Ebonoid conversion kits before. Thanks again for making the photos available to us all.
