I know this thread hasn't had an entry in a year but here goes...

I was watching the movie "From Time to Time" (2009) on Netflix recently and I spotted an EMG (Expert?) in a few of the scenes. Attached are some screen shots. Wondering if was borrowed from a collection for use as a prop. I can't imagine a studio actually owning one and caring for it.

It is one of the EMG Mark X models which has been fitted with a Meltrope soundbox. I don't know the film or where it was made, but some UK dealers have been known to hire out machines as props or set dressings for film and television work.

The prop guy found me and my VV 35 via a local junk shop owner all those years ago to help Ray Milland film this scene in the fondly remembered American International epic "Frogs".

Was watching (for the umpteenth time) Cheaper By the Dozen (1950) last night. In the first opening scene where Mr. Gilbreth (Clifton Webb) is gathering his family about him, I spied an L-door Victrola in the background.

There's a Victor machine in the cellar scene with Paul Newman (" Brick") and Burl Ives ("Big Daddy") in "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof." Outside horn machine.
