No. No. Stay away. Nothing good here. Don't bother. Too many outlanders bidding already.

We got back from Stanton's auction late last night. The only disappointment was a flat tire going through Chicago. We tested the endurance of the little donut spare for the last four hours of the trip.
Anyway, the auction was remarkable to say the least. There was something for everyone. I ended up with a very nice mahogany bow front Herzog cylinder record cabinet, a nice disk Herzog disc record cabinet, a very nice pre-dog Victor P, Columbia front mount AH, an all brass front mount leather elbow style Victor horn, Edison Triumph front mount horn, mahogany sheet music cabinet, a nice cylinder music box and table, Victor R case and motor, and some other box lots of parts. There was a nice spruce Edison horn bell that I ended up second highest bidder on. It would have been great for my late Idelia that I recently found a couple of months ago. But, I am very happy for the collector that ended up with it. He too had just the machine for it. I believe a new record was set for the Victor #10 reproducer and case. $8800 !!! Overall, it was a very exciting auction and I have to compliment Steve Stanton and his crew as they did a great job with it all. We look forward to seeing the next auction catalog!!!!

Yikes! I have always wanted one of these, but I thought $5000 was high. Not likely I'll see one for sale anytime soon anyway, but even if I couldn't pull of that kind of $$$$.

Wow!!!. I didn't even know the #10 had the case (Case not mentioned nor pictured). That would be the forth example with it's fitted case known. The condition of the gold wash is weak. However, it did have it's "Patent Applied For" center plate.

A number of these center plates have been removed and replaced with a full mica diaphragm. Perhaps a way to improve the sound back in the day..?.

Also, find another loose like that. Congrats to the new owner.

What did the spruce bell sell for..??.

I guess the market is alive and well for the rare stuff... .

If that was just the bell...??. That seems about right. I sold a mint original bell 16 years ago for $5500.
