Ok i found a bad 33 ohm resistor thanks for the help Chris on You Tube ! I now have a amp but after playing several records it starting sounding kinda scratchy and with new caps and cartridge do you think it could be a weak tube?

The amps that use the large octal base tubes can be problematic because the heat from the tubes will cause the speaker frame to warp causing distortion. You can make a heat shield around the speaker out of sheet metal to solve the problem.

I wanted to say thanks to the members that helped me with my 45ey-3 project , it is now working perfectly thanks to your help and replies!!! A special thanks to Victrolaboy who was so much help on my last 45 player as well..

I have a question about wires to speaker and pick up , does it matter which terminal they go to or can they go either direction?
